Earleen and Amos invited me to photograph their 50th Birthday Party at The Birchwood Boutique Hotel in St. Petersburg, Florida. This wasn’t just any regular birthday celebration, but an elegant Black Tie extravaganza! Earleen for sure kissed her 40’s goodbye at this party.
For those not familiar with The Birchwood, it is a beautiful 1924 boutique hotel located in the heart of Downtown St. Pete that has only 18 rooms. The party was held in the elegant Grand Ballroom with custom chandeliers. What a perfect venue for a great birthday celebration.
Prior to Earleen’s arrival, we took portraits of her outside of the hotel and at the St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts. We find that the MFA offers a great backdrop for portraits. For this celebration, we brought along lighting to do portrait station when the guests arrived and had a few props for fun photos. The backdrop for the portrait station was created by Cheer’s Events. Wow what a great backdrop they did with custom lettering and a balloon wall! Xina Scuderi, the associate and partner photographer was there to help the memories.
