As a photographer specializing in surprise marriage proposals, I’ve had the privilege of capturing over 60 heartfelt moments. Each proposal holds its own magic for me, and Kyler & Paige’s engagement at The Birchwood Canopy in downtown St. Pete was no exception. Perched on the rooftop in a cozy cabana, I awaited their arrival, ready to immortalize the pivotal seconds.
Unlike most proposals I capture, my presence wasn’t a secret; Paige spotted me immediately, greeted with a joyful laugh. Alongside the couple were their mothers and other loved ones, stationed in another part of the rooftop. As Paige said yes, the rooftop patrons cheered, the family swiftly joined the newly engaged duo, and I seized every precious moment.
Post-proposal, I whisked Kyler & Paige away to North Straub Park for a brief engagement session amidst the iconic Banyon Trees—a beloved backdrop for us St. Pete residents. Following the intimate shoot, we reunited with their family, capturing group portraits and toasting to the joyous occasion. It was an unforgettable evening, brimming with love.
