As a freelance photographer I am often hired to photograph various events, things, or locations. My clients vary, from individuals to companies, some are local to the Tampa Bay area and some are as far as California. I was recently contacted by Kevin Barry Fine Art with a HQ located in Las Angeles, California. Kevin Barry Fine Art “is a leading international art consultancy, offering expert advice on fine art purchase and placement”. This assignment had me at The Vinoy® Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort where the art consultants installed over 120 pieces of art during The Vinoy’s updates the hotel did recently. Hotel are huge byers of art. I am sure you all have visited hotels before and noticed the “hotel art” in your room or in the lobby and common areas – well quite possibly that art was placed by Kevin Barry Fine Art.
Kevin Barry Fine Art needed the corporate photography to place on their website to show their future clients the art installation and to promote their fine art artist. A few of the pieces were only located in the Governor’s Suite which was a superb collection of art that is the caliber that you would expect. Some of the other pieces were in the guest room, and some other art was installed on the ceiling. You heard me right – the ceiling. This art, due to the angels, was the most difficult to photograph – but I enjoyed the challenge.
