Grand Prix of St. Petersburg

Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg 2019

It’s getting close to another Indy Car Season. Drivers in St. Petersburg will soon be starting their engines for Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. The races will be held on March 8, 9 and 10th. I will be there again covering the race – my 5th year as a credentialed photographer. As a photographer with credentials I am provided a race bib and get an “all access pass” for the races. I covered the races in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and now 2019 and I am so excited. The thrill of a Indy Car just a few feet away from you traveling 100+ mph is so exciting!

For those who don’t know, the streets of downtown St. Petersburg will soon be turned into a 1.8 race course. The races have operated here every year since 2005. I have more information about the races on my two blogs below. Please visit them to see more race photos!

Check out a few of my favorite photos from over the years. I had over 12,000 to choose from. Check back after March 10th to see photos from 2019.

  1. […] It’s Racing Season for the Indycar and again the season starts in sunny St. Petersburg, Florida – my hometown at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. As this is my hometown I am able to watch the track get build, and you all know how much I love behind the scene work. Today was not the best day (not so sunny) as you can tell from the sky as I thought for sure it was going to rain. Also, if you like this post check out my post from 2014 here […]
