Last weekend I got the chance to go out with my friend, Bobby Quinn, who is a pilot and a photographer. Like me, he does photography, but not at ground level, but rather at distances of 800 feet or greater from his target. He is an aerial photographer and owner of JetJocks Aerial Photography. It was sure a fun flight and a unique experience!
Being a native of Pinellas County, I have lived in St. Petersburg area, but have never seen our great city from the air. One of the primary shots I wanted to capture was of the very picturesque Sunshine Skyway.
The flight plan took us over the Sunshine Skyway, then to Anna Maria Island, over Egmont Key and Fort Desoto Park, and finally up the St. Pete Beach coastline where I got shots of the Don Cesar.
Bobby flies a Cessna 172 out of Albert Whitted Airport in St. Petersburg, Florida. Like any great pilot, he did the mandated pre-flight check.
Check out the rest of the photos from the flight over St. Petersburg, Sarasota, and St. Pete Beach
