Over the weekend I attended the A Slice of the Burg! Music, Art & Food Street Festival that benefited the efforts to save the 86-year old Historic YMCA building in Downtown St. Petersburg located at 116 Fifth St. S. In addition to the street music festival, the event featured paintings, sculpture, and photography from more than 15 local artists and tours of the historic YMCA.
It was sure a celebration that headlined George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic. The lineup features more than a dozen local bands, including:

Unfortunately, the great Florida weather did not cooperate and a few of the bands did not get to perform and the king of funk George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic was moved to Ferg’s Sports Bar & Grill.
